On 24 October, the world remembers the day the United Nations came into being in 1945. For adults, it can feel like a distant date from a history lesson. For a child in a classroom, it can be the first time they realise that the world is much bigger than their street, and that every person in it matters.
At Geetanjali Group of Schools Hyderabad, that realisation happens in many classrooms at once. From Bachupally, where our journey began in 2004-05, to campuses across the city, thousands of children pause on United Nations Day and ask a very simple question: how do we live well together?
What does “united” mean to a child?
Ask a six-year-old what peace means, and the answer is usually delightfully practical. “Sharing my colours.” “Not saying mean things.” “Letting everyone play.”
That is the spirit of the United Nations in a nutshell: people solving problems by talking, listening and cooperating. We want our children to grow up with those habits, because empathy and respect are not chapters in a book. They are practised daily, in groups, on playgrounds and in conversations.
So on United Nations Day, our classrooms become little maps of the world. Younger students learn about different countries, their food, festivals and children. Older students look at global goals like clean water, quality education and climate action, then ask what they can do about them in their own school and neighbourhood.
Strong foundations, big goals
Global thinking only works when it sits on a strong academic base, and this is where our Olympiad approach comes in. Parents looking for an Olympiad school in Hyderabad for JEE and NEET foundation want more than marks. They want a child who learns to think, question and apply ideas early, so that competitive exams feel like a natural next step, not a sudden mountain.
Our teachers build that foundation gradually, from Nursery to Grade 10. Concepts are explained, tested and revisited in ways that grow confidence rather than fear. A child who understands why something works is far more prepared for the future than one who has only memorised it.
CBSE vs Cambridge: which is better for my child?
This is the question parents ask us most, and it deserves a straight answer. There is no universal winner. There is only the better fit for your child.
CBSE offers a clear, structured syllabus, strong alignment with national entrance exams, and a trusted path for students planning to study in India.
Cambridge focuses on application, analysis and independent thinking, with an internationally recognised qualification that can open doors to universities around the world.
As a CBSE and Cambridge school in Hyderabad, we do not push families toward one answer. Our teams sit down with you, understand your child’s strengths and interests, and help you choose the pathway that keeps learning joyful and long-term goals clear.
A school close to your home, wherever you live
One of the things parents value most is not having to choose between quality and convenience. Across Hyderabad, our families tell us they started with a simple search close to home.
- If you were looking for the best CBSE school in Kukatpally or the best CBSE school in Bachupally, our campuses there carry the experience of two decades of teaching.
- If you live nearby and wanted a CBSE school near Pragathi Nagar and Puppalaguda, our campuses in these neighbourhoods keep school close and mornings calmer.
- If you were searching for a CBSE school near Madinaguda and Kondapur, you will find welcoming campuses within easy reach of the western corridor.
- Families in S.R. Nagar and West Marredpally can find a CBSE school right in their own part of the city.
- For parents who prefer an international curriculum, our Cambridge school in Kompally and Bowrampet offers that pathway in the north of the city.
From one day of celebration to a lifetime of values
United Nations Day comes once a year. What we hope stays with our students every other day is what it stands for: choosing understanding over assumption, and dialogue over disagreement.
If you would like your child to grow up confident, kind and globally aware, we would love to welcome you to the Geetanjali family.
